From Karey Love:
"Mike was a neighborhood friend that kept in contact with me all these past 70 years, (since 5th grade at Harley Hopkins). He was a lifelong bachelor minus a few months of a failed marriage. His great joys were following online machinery auctions and storing his treasures in his warehouses in rural Missouri. At one time he had 17 forklifts! He didn't sell his goodies, just housed them. He was in the Navy for awhile and blamed his poor health on Agent Orange. The Navy was good to him, providing an adequate disability compensation. This, plus his Social Security check allowed him to fill his buildings with his 'boy toys'. We each have our unique personalities that serve as asterisks behind our name. Mike amazed me with his grit, determination and eagerness to continue his collections. Julie and I visited him in Missouri about 10 years ago and we commented, on our drive back home, that he couldn't have much time left here on earth because of his failing health. He was like the Energizer Bunny. Being 80, and observing family and friends leaving us behind, I wonder "What's next?" I hope Mike will be the highest bidder in that great auction in the sky!"
Thanks, Karey!
