Obituary for William E. Black




William E. Black, age 76 of Lilburn, GA, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; and son, Jon. His is survived by his daughter, Lisa; son, Nathan; daughter-in-law, Marti; and grandchildren, Lenora and Annabel. 



Bill was a native of Hopkins, Minnesota and born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He lived most of his life in Georgia. Bill worked as a service technician for National Photocopy, Inc. and was a bicycle shop entrepreneur for a time. Bill took pride in coaching multiple sports for Gwinnett County Special Olympics and Gwinnett Special Forces. His pinnacle of volunteering was spearheading Friday night bowling, Alley Cats. 



The Memorial Service to honor and celebrate the life of William E. Black will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. The family will receive friends also on Friday, prior to the service, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Honor of William E. Black to Gwinnett County Special Olympics, www.specialolympicsga.org or Gwinnett Special Forces, 1480 Barrett Place Lane, Lawrenceville, GA 30043.

 ack, passed away. Bill has been a rock to our Special Olympics community for decades and one of my beloved friends. A master of all sports, Bill was a certified coach in athletics, bocce, aquatics, and of course bowling. In 2013, Bill won Special Olympics Spirit of Special Olympics award for his service to our Special Olympics community.   SERVICE TIMES: December 20, 2019 (Friday) Tom Wages Funeral Home Chapel located at 3705 Highway 78 W, Snellville, GA 30039. Visitation will be from noon to 2 pm, with services starting at 2 pm.
